IRAP’s Environment Commission

Creation and objectives of the commission

The IRAP environment commission was created in February 2019 by the director of IRAP in response to a request from staff for the laboratory to implement measures to reduce the environmental impact of its activities.

It is responsible for identifying and implementing strategies for IRAP to comply with the IPCC recommendations to limit global warming to 1.5 ° C, i.e. a reduction in its greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

The current committee includes doctoral students, post-docs, researchers and technical and administrative staff who have volunteered to participate in the initial body of the committee.

The commission reports directly to the director of IRAP and a representative of the commission participates as a non-voting member of the Laboratory Council.
